Help! I have an urgent case and we need an ultrasound ASAP! What should we do?

How do I book?

HOW Much Does an ultrasound cost?

Veterinary clinic staff may email wavesinfocusvet@gmail.com to request a Fee Guide with current pricing.

How far in advance do i need to book?

Limited same-day and next-day available for urgent cases. Routine cases are scheduled in days or weeks as per the preference of veterinary clinic.

how long will the ultrasound take?

Most abdominal or cardiac ultrasound scans are completed within 45 minutes. Please allow an additional 30 minutes for set up, documentation, and clean up.

Fine Needle Aspiration may add 15-30 minutes.

when will I get the results?

Routine ultrasound reports are available 24 hours after a scan.

STAT reports are available within 4-6 hours.

how do we set up the room?

A Board Certified Veterinary Intermal Medicine Specialist or Board Certified Veterinary Radiologist will interpret the ultrasound and provide a written report within 24 hours.

Currently we use the services of DVMSTAT Consulting.

Please select a room that is quiet where lights can be dimmed or turned off. A surgical suite not in use, or an exam room with a table of adjustable height is ideal.

We will also need a small table for the ultrasound machine to be placed (mayo stand is too small).

Please prepare clean towels for patient comfort, and to remove gel from patient after the scan.

A padded trough is not needed - most of my abdominal ultrasounds are performed in lateral recumbency!
